Dakota Prairie Elementary was established in 2015. As Brookings continues to grow, the need to expand into a new building became necessary. Dakota Prairie was built for six sections of each K-3 and also serves as the home for the district’s early childhood program. We are home to approximately 475 K-3 learners and around 40 ECE learners. Dakota Prairie prides itself on its ability to provide technology for its students. Each classroom has a Smartboard and the building also has iPads, mobile laptop carts, and a computer lab. Students are immersed in Encore classes including PE, art, guidance, library, and technology. Dakota Prairie provides student-centered learning experiences and focuses on growing learners as leaders.
