Medary Elementary School is a JK-3 elementary school serving approximately 350 students from Brookings and the surrounding area. Medary Elementary has one section of junior kindergarten and 4 sections of kindergarten through third grade. The school is accessible to the physically handicapped. All classrooms and the library are equipped with the wiring required for quick Internet access. We have a fully functioning wired computer lab as well as one full mobile lab. Medary offers all of the elementary curricula found in most elementary schools as well as library services, art, technology, counseling classes, physical education, Title 1 Reading/Reading Recovery, and music. The Medary Elementary School consists of one principal, one secretary, one counselor, one librarian, 24 teachers, and 7 teaching assistants. A school nurse is available on a full-time basis. A school psychologist, special education director and curriculum director are also available.  The faculty averages 11.5 years of teaching experience with one percent holding master degrees.
